App Name: Soulo

                Core Commitment: Soulo is a multi-platform search browser. Soulo does not operate a backend that receives your searches. Local app data stays on your device unless you enable iCloud sync.
            

1. What Soulo Does

Soulo is a multi-platform search browser that helps you search across platforms such as Google, Baidu, YouTube, Bilibili, and third-party AI services. When you search, Soulo opens the selected platform in its embedded browser. Your query is sent directly to that platform under the platform's own privacy policy; it is not relayed through a Soulo server.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

No Server Communication: Soulo does not operate any backend servers. There is no account system, no analytics, and no telemetry.
No Personal Identifiers: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personal information.
No Tracking: We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking frameworks.

3. Local Data Storage

The following data is stored locally on your device by default. Data you explicitly enable for iCloud sync is described in the next section:

Search History: Your recent search keywords are saved using SwiftData for quick access. You can clear this at any time in Settings → Privacy.
Bookmarks: Pages you bookmark are stored locally. You can delete them individually or clear all.
Platform Configuration: Your platform visibility, order, and custom groups are saved in UserDefaults.
Preferences: Language, appearance, wallpaper settings, and home screen customization are stored locally via UserDefaults.

4. iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, appearance, home-screen, browser, privacy, wallpaper preferences, platform configuration, toolbar layout, and site rules are synced through Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store. Search and browsing history, bookmarks, cache, cookies and login data, downloads, private-browsing state, usage statistics, and wallpaper image files are never synced. Synced settings are protected by Apple and accessible only through your Apple ID. Soulo does not have access to your iCloud credentials.

5. Permissions

Microphone: Used for voice search and, after you approve a secure website's request, for website features such as calls or recording. Depending on the device, language, and operating system, Apple may process voice-search transcription on-device or through its speech service. Soulo never grants website access automatically and does not record, store, or send the audio to a Soulo server. A website you approve may process it under that website's privacy policy.
Camera: Available only after you approve a secure website's request, for features such as video calls, scanning codes, or taking a photo. Soulo never grants website access automatically and does not record, store, or send the video to a Soulo server. A website you approve may process it under that website's privacy policy.
Photo Library: Used to set custom wallpapers and save wallpaper images. Photos are never uploaded.

6. Third-Party Content

Search results are displayed from third-party platforms via WebView. Each platform has its own privacy policy and data practices. Soulo does not control the content provided by these platforms. If you enable ad filtering, Soulo may block known advertising requests and hide matching ad elements inside its WebView.

User-installed scripts: UserScript is an experimental, opt-in browser feature. A script you choose to install can read or modify matching web pages and may make network requests according to its code. Soulo does not install scripts automatically or send their data to a Soulo server. Only install and enable scripts from authors you trust.

7. Ad Filtering

Soulo includes an optional ad blocker that can be enabled in Settings. When enabled, it blocks network requests to known advertising domains and hides ad elements using CSS/JavaScript injection. This feature operates entirely within the app's WebView and does not affect other apps or browsers.

8. Intelligent Features and Third-Party AI Platforms

Soulo uses Apple frameworks for local intelligent features:

Spell Correction: UITextChecker (on-device)
Language Detection: NLLanguageRecognizer (on-device)
Text Extraction: Vision framework OCR (on-device)
Clipboard Analysis: NLTagger for content type detection (on-device)

These Soulo features do not send their input to a Soulo server. If you deliberately select a third-party AI platform, Soulo sends your query directly to that platform so it can provide an answer. The platform may process and retain the query according to its own privacy policy. Soulo does not merge third-party AI answers or submit your query to multiple AI platforms without your action.

9. Children's Privacy

Soulo does not collect any personal data and is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

10. Data Deletion

Deleting the app removes its locally stored data from the device. Since Soulo stores nothing on its own servers, there is no server-side Soulo account to delete. You can also selectively clear search history, bookmarks, and WebView cache from Settings.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above.
